2021 Scholarship Forms and Current Scholarship Recipients

DeMolay Scholarship Foundation of Ohio, Inc.

AREA STUDENTS RECEIVE DEMOLAY SCHOLARSHIPS for 2021-22

An announcement has been made by Ohio DeMolay that scholarships for the 2021-22 year were awarded that include three Upper Sandusky DeMolay Chapter members.  Each Ohio DeMolay scholarship recipient for 2021-22 will receive $5500.

Samuel Bailey, son of Steve & Janet Bailey, is a 2019 graduate of the Ohio Distance & Electronic Learning Academy .  He will be attending Valparaiso University and studying meteorology.

Kurtis Meeker, son of Michael and Tammy Meeker, is a 2019 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. He is a junior at Heidelberg College in Tiffin where he majors in music education.

Noah Leonard, son of David and Tanya Leonard, is a 2019 graduate of Buckeye Online School for Success.  He is a junior at the College of Wooster where he majors in political science.

Previous recipients of DeMolay Scholarships from Upper Sandusky DeMolay have included Dillon Barto, a graduate of Bowling Green State University and Jay (Julian) Pelfrey, a graduate of Ohio University at Athens and the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

This scholarship is automatically renewable throughout the student’s college career by maintaining a 3.0 grade average and making an annual request.  The scholarship amount may vary from year to year based on the amount generated by the foundation.  The initial application call for some basic financial information, letters of recommendation, and a high school transcript showing a 3.0 or higher accumulative grade average.  The DeMolay Scholarship Foundation of Ohio maintains the fund and distributes the scholarships.

Upper Sandusky Chapter Order of DeMolay was chartered in 1964 and has provided fellowship, fun, leadership training, and character development in a positive and healthy environment for over fifty-five years

DeMolay teaches the principles of Love of Parents, Reverence for Sacred Things, Courtesy, Comradeship, Fidelity, Cleanness, and Patriotism.  During their regular meetings DeMolays kneel for prayer, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and are reminded of their duties to be of service to others along with their usual business and event planning activities.
